Lauren Conrad has dip-dyed her ponytail magenta, experimented with peach ombré and rocked rainbow tips. But even she was surprised by her latest hair color adventure.

“So apparently it doesn’t wash out… Looks like I’m sporting pink locks for the rest of this trip,” the star wrote on Instagram along with a photo of her newly carnation-colored strands.

What caused the accidental dye job? Conrad is in India for the Hindu festival of Holi, which is celebrated in part by throwing brightly colored pigments at other participants. Conrad posted several photos of her color-soaked hair, not realizing until later that her new hue was here to stay.

But leave it to Conrad to make the best out of a silly situation — she wove her new pink hair into a sassy side braid, added some aviators and went on with her trip.
